The NB Idea Archive · Issue 00 · Spring 2026

Every word, by a human we paid.

A born-licensable archive of commissioned human writing — for an age that has run out of trustworthy text.

The NB Idea Archive is a permanent, growing collection of works commissioned by Nbidea from named human authors. Each piece is delivered with a full provenance manifest: who wrote it, on what brief, against what fee, through how many drafts, with what editorial exchange, and signed at completion.

The Archive exists because text without provenance is no longer trustworthy. Every piece here, when it appears, will arrive with the full record of the human conditions that produced it.

N° 01 — The principle

Born-licensable, not retrospectively cleared.

Most large text collections were assembled before anyone asked whether the authors had agreed. The result is a generation of expensive lawsuits, scrubbed datasets, and content libraries with unclear footing.

The Archive is built the other way around. Every commission contract, signed before a single word is written, includes the full set of downstream rights:

Each work, on day one, sits cleanly in every layer of the rights stack. Nothing has to be cleared later because nothing was unclear to begin with.

N° 02 — Manifest

What follows each work into the Archive.

Every commissioned piece is permanently bound to a manifest — a record of the conditions under which it was made. The manifest is not metadata. It is part of the work.

N° 03 — Status

The Archive begins with Issue 01.

Issue 00 is this prologue — the architecture page you are reading. The first commissioned work enters the Archive with Issue 01, scheduled for Spring 2027. Until then, the Archive is honestly empty.

For AI labs, libraries, and researchers

The Archive will be made available for licensed corpus use, on terms that respect the original commissions and the authors who hold the upstream rights. We are not currently selling access. We are building the corpus.

If you work on data provenance, on Constitutional AI, on the question of where good text comes from — you are welcome to read along as the Archive grows. When it reaches a useful size, the door opens through Pollyanna directly. Until then there is nothing to license.
