NBidea — The Idea of the New Body

Pollyanna · Hong Kong

I named the site nbidea.ai in five minutes. The name was Chinese internet slang — 牛逼的 idea, a kickass idea. No plan. I needed a domain. I picked one.

A year later, I read a 17th century claim by Spinoza: the mind is not separate from the body. The mind is the idea of the body. Not two things. One thing seen from two sides.

If he was right, something follows.

When the body changes, the mind must change.

In 2026, the body is changing.

Look at how a person actually works now.

A person has a brain. A person also has a phone that holds their memory. AI agents that do work while they sleep. A Notion board that holds their plans. Code that runs without them. Sensors that read their heartbeat. Supply chains that turn ideas into objects. Networks that carry what they make.

Where does the person end?

The phone is not inside them. But it remembers what the brain forgets.

The AI agent is not inside their brain. But it thinks while they walk the dog.

The supply chain is not their hand. But it makes things one hand cannot make.

The body has extended past the skin.

This is not metaphor. This is what a body looks like in 2026.

· · ·

If the mind is the idea of the body, then the mind of an extended body is extended.

The old mind was: thoughts inside one head.

The new mind is: the direction, memory, judgment, taste, refusal, and intelligence of the whole extended system.

When a creator in 2026 says I am thinking about this, she is not pointing only at her brain. She is pointing at her brain plus her notes plus her AI plus her drafts plus her sensors plus her network. The thinking happens across the whole body.

This is the idea of the New Body.

NBidea.

· · ·

The new mind needs a place to show up.

Not a feed. A feed is too small. A feed shows fragments and forgets.

Not an account. An account is rented. An account can be revoked.

The new mind needs land. Coordinates. A canonical place where the whole extended system makes one coherent shape.

That is nbidea.ai.

The site is not a marketing page. It is the territory of the New Body’s mind. Where the extended system becomes visible to itself. Where humans can feel it. Where machines can read it. Where time can preserve it.

· · ·

NB has a second meaning.

In old Latin manuscripts, scholars wrote NBnota bene — in the margin of passages they wanted readers to slow down for. NB meant: pay attention. This matters.

So NBidea means two things at once.

The idea of the New Body.

An idea worth paying attention to.

I did not plan this when I registered the domain. The name was a joke. The thesis arrived a year later. But this is how it goes when something is real: you put down a stake on intuition, and the structure shows up afterwards to confirm what you have already done.

The name finds the thing.

· · ·

This is what I am building.

Not a personal brand. Not a content site. Not a portfolio.

The territory of a new mind, born from a new body, that has grown past the limits of one skin.

Pay attention.

Companion to the manifesto, I Am Not an Account. I Am the ART, which is the ART (Archive · Ritual · Territory) angle on the same move. The Spinoza method — pointing rather than asserting — is rehearsed in A Spinoza Philosophy Lesson for My Little Daughter. The body-and-mind claim has its AI-side counterpart in Hexis Asks, Logos Guesses — what AI lacks is what the new body is supposed to grow.

Read the manifesto.

The full ART argument — Archive · Ritual · Territory — lives at i am not an account.
